Adel Lotfy

Emirates Core Niche Consultancy (ECNC)

Adel Lotfy wealth of experience is gained through his thirty plus years in the banking sector including Finance Control, Risk management, Board Committees and Board of Directors, some of these activities were performed in more than one region including London Market in the UK. The practical experience of Adel Lotfy adds to the niches of his knowledge.

He occupied different positions including the Corporate Secretary of “National Bank of Abu Dhabi” (NBAD), Secretary to the Risk Management Committee and also served as Senior Marketing & Credit Officer in the city of London.

He is founder and managing partner of “Emirates CoreNiche Consultancy” (ECNC) a strategic business development consulting firm based in UAE and delivering Corporate Governance to Financial Institutions, Banks, Governments and Leading Corporation in the UAE, “GCC” and MENA region.

On top of his experience, Lotfy is a certified Corporate Governance specialist from Institute of International Research (IIR), and has been a regular speaker in the topic of Corporate Secretary roles with Marcus Evans, the well-known educational research organization.

Adel Lotfy holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Foreign Trade.

He is founder and member of Egyptian Business Board in Abu Dhabi and member of Canadian Business Council, and member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Mr. Lotfy is a non-executive board member in a joint venture that is building and operating solar farms for a project worth US$5 billion in order to produce 3000MW of electricity in Egypt.

Ms Sharon Ditchburn LLB CPA FCIS FGIA MBA, founder of Capital Advantage (UAE). Ms Ditchburn is a Certified Practicing Accountant, Chartered Secretary, and holds legal qualifications from Australia, as well as an MBA specializing in Corporate Governance, Entrepreneurship and Strategy.   She is one of the few individuals in the GCC certified by the IFC/World Bank to deliver their Director Development Programs.  Ms Ditchburn has over 20 years experience providing corporate governance policy, advisory, Board evaluation and Director training throughout the GCC, Australia, Africa and Asia, including certified Director and governance programs for international bodies such as Informa and PwC Training Academy, and regional bodies such as Mudara and Interafrica.  Prior to forming Capital Advantage, she was a Senior Executive in banking, listed mining companies, university owned IT entities and the Queensland electricity industry during its corporatization phase.  Sharon is also an Authorised Individual by the DFSA with various regulated entities, including investment banks, asset managers, hedge funds, and wealth managers.  She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators and Governance Institute of Australia, as well as membership of various Directors and Compliance Institutes.

Dr. Ashraf  Gamal - Chief Executive Officer

Hawkamah

Dr. Ashraf Gamal El Din is the Chief Executive Officer of Hawkamah, the Institute for Corporate Governance. Prior to joining Hawkamah, Dr. Ashraf was the Executive Chairman of Egypt Post. Before that, he was the Deputy Executive Director of the Egyptian Banking Institute, the training arm of the Central Bank of Egypt. He was also the founder and Project Manager of the Egyptian Corporate Responsibility Center working on promoting the concepts and application of CSR in Egypt. Furthermore, he was the Executive Director of the Egyptian Institute of Directors (EIoD), the Institute of Corporate Governance in Egypt and the Arab Region.

 Dr Ashraf served as a board member and head of the Audit Committee in a number of listed, non-listed, State Owned and family owned companies. He also served a member of the General Assembly of the Holding Company for Transportation. Furthermore, Dr. Ashraf is an Associate Professor of Management, Faculty of Commerce, Cairo University and holds a PhD degree from Manchester University, UK, and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Carleton University, Canada. He further holds a Bachelor degree in Business Administration from Cairo University with highest honor. Dr. Ashraf worked as head of Business Administration Department at Nile University for Graduate Studies, affiliated with the Ministry of Communication & Information Technology. Since 1997, he taught a large number of management and business courses in Egypt, the US, and the Gulf Area.
